An Integrated Lifecycle Approach

Application Management encompasses the entire lifecycle of the application from requirements to retirement.  This ensures a holistic approach to the IT Application Service and ensures co-operative efforts between the development and operations sides of the IT department.

The Application Service is created through a development project and then managed through IT Service Management processes (see below).  The Application Management lifecycle is a high level approach (based on ITIL best practices) that relies on other best practices such as the Software Development Method (SDM), the PRINCE2 Project Management framework and ITIL Support and Delivery processes.
