An Integrated Lifecycle Approach

Application Management encompasses the entire lifecycle of the application from requirements to retirement.  This ensures a holistic approach to the IT Application Service and ensures co-operative efforts between the development and operations sides of the IT department.

The Application Service is created through a development project and then managed through IT Service Management processes (see below).  The Application Management lifecycle is a high level approach (based on ITIL best practices) that relies on other best practices such as the Software Development Method (SDM), the PRINCE2® Project Management framework and ITIL Support and Delivery processes.
