Lucid IT’s ITIL training, presented in association with ALC Training, is available as a structured training program with international professional certification.
The certification program has 3 levels: Foundation, Practitioner and Masters with the examinations set, marked and administered by independent examining bodies. In addition to the certification program, Lucid IT runs a series of ITIL based awareness and training courses for all levels of IT professionals.
Management Series
The Management Series provides an understanding of IT processes from a management perspective. Current courses that make up the Management Series include:
- ITIL Essentials
The ITIL Service Management Essentials (Foundation Level) course is a certification course based on the IT Infrastructure Library.
This 3 day course provides a comprehensive insight into the 11 most important IT Service Support and Delivery processes and the Service Desk function. The focus is on an integrated approach to IT Service Management through cross-departmental processes and implementation of effective communication channels. Attendees learn a common vocabulary and a shared understanding IT Service Management best practice.

This is a twelve day IT Service Management Course
Leading to the Manager's Certificate in IT Service Management
The ITIL Masters Program is designed for anyone who wants to ensure that they master best practice in IT Service Management. The program comprises 4 modules over 12 days of intensive training and provides an in-depth understanding of the 12 key ITIL processes as well as a thorough analysis of ITIL in a business context. The course culminates in two exams for the Manager's Certificate in IT Service Management, the premium service management qualification in the world today.

Ideal for the busy IT executive team, this course covers the business benefits and fundamental concepts of ITIL. It can be conducted as a 1/2 day presentation or 1 day which includes the Rail's R Us Simulation.
Practitioner Series
The Practitioner Series caters for IT professionals who seek to specialise and obtain certification in a particular process discipline or related set of processes.
Clustered Practitioner courses include:
- Support and Restore - covers Service Desk, Incident Management and Problem Management, and
- Release and Control - covers Release Management, Configuration Management and Change Management

The clustered practitioner courses are of 5 days duration, comprising theory, practical exercises and simulations. The course includes a 1.5-hour certification exam.
Anyone wishing to undertake a practitioner course should have their ITIL Foundations certificate and at least 2 years of relevant work experience.
As, and when the EXIN syllabus develops, Lucid IT will be offering the following Service Delivery cluster courses:
- Agree and Define - covering Service Level Management and Financial Management of IT Services
- Plan and Improve - covering Availability, Capacity and IT Service Continuity Management
Single discipline practitioner courses are also currently available and include:
- Incident Management / Service Desk
- Problem Management
- Availability Management
- Capacity Management
- Financial Management
These, in line with EXIN policy are available until Jan 1st 2007.
- Service Level Management
- Security Management
These courses will continue to be available beyond Jan 1st 2007.
These courses are of three days duration and contain a combination of theory, practical exercises and real life experiences from your Lucid IT presenter. The course contains a 1-hour multiple-choice certification examination.
