So, how do you really unlock the strategic value of IT Service Management?
Finding out is the aim of this year’s ITSMF conference
Come and see us at booth number 2 at the conference, tell us about your ITSM journey, and receive a giveaway of real value. We’d love to hear your story.
Because we understand strategy and how to execute it, Lucid IT is your IT Management partner.
As a gold sponsor, we are continuing our support for the IT Service Management community.
This year we are providing a workshop and two presentations:
“The Auditors are Coming!” – Using ITIL to Prepare for a CoBiT Audit by Patrick Keogh, Principal Consultant
This workshop explores the relationships between CobiT, ITIL and ITSM with the aim of preparing the IT service organization for an audit using CobiT. It provides a translation between CobiT and ITIL concepts and terminology, and identifies the sort of information that an auditor will require. Along the way it provides some ideas which can be used to improve your overall ITSM environment.
IT Governance through IT Service Management by David Favelle, Principal Consultant
As if the CIO didn’t already have enough to think about, IT management best practices, standards and audit frameworks have been emerging and changing on a day to day basis: ITIL, COBIT, Prince2, PMBOK, AS8015, ISO20000, ISO27001 (ISO17799), Balanced Scorecard Six Sigma, and more. The choices are many and the consequences of taking the wrong approach can be dire. At the same time, the “build and run” sides of the IT shop are competing for resources and budget, neither recognising the need to focus on solving the business problem and take a whole of IT view.
In this presentation, David will look at how ITSM best practices can be leveraged to clarify and implement governance and compliance solutions. He will showcase some of the built in "governance" and risk management elements of ITIL and then propose some clever ways of synthesising Governance and ITIL at more tactical and strategic levels.
Pragmatic Service Management – Applying the ITIL Theory Innovatively to Solve a Specific Business Problem by Claire Bourke, Principal Consultant
There are many ways to implement ITIL into an organization, some organizations have done it and are realising the strategic benefits, many are struggling. The premise of this presentation is that there are theorists who implement by the book, the mavericks who whilst being very innovative, fail to create cohesive, predictable and sustainable outcomes. Finally there is the Pragmatist, who takes the ITIL theory applies it innovatively to solve a specific business problem and delivers real outcomes to support the IT Strategy. This presentation outlines key symptoms of an IT Service Management in trouble and provides pragmatic solutions to remediate.
